An application by Springfield Properties to build 365 homes at their Dykes of Gray development has been approved by Dundee Council.
The plans include a range of two, three, four and five bedroom homes.
The council initially rejected the application over concerns about education.
Springfield has agreed to pay a roof tax for each completed home on the development, which is to be used towards a new Primary School.
Three potential sites for the school have also been suggested.
Sandy Adam, Springfield Properties Chairman, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the decision to approve our Dykes of Gray planning application.
"We listened to the feedback from Dundee Council in December and addressed and amended the points of concern in the application presented yesterday."
