Communities in Irvine are being urged by North Ayrshire Council to speak out about their vision for the town.

Local people are being invited to attend design workshops which are to be held on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st of April 2015, from 10.30am until 7.30pm.

The two day event will display project proposals for the town centre. The council is working with the Working For Irvine Together (WFIT) community group to develop ideas.

Project proposals will include an upgrade of the High Street Public Realm, as well as an improved connection to the Harbourside. Other plans consist of improving pathways, cycleways, sign posts and the development of a sports and leisure facility.

Karen Yeomans, Executive Director of Economy & Communities, said: "Over the last few months, we have been actively engaging with Irvine’s communities to help shape the vision for the town.

"I would encourage as many local people as possible to attend the consultation workshops to share their ideas and views to allow meaningful discussion on the proposed projects."
