East Dunbartonshire Council has announced it has considered a progress report on the development of the new primary school for St Flannan's and St Agatha's primary schools.

The new school is being built on the St Flannan's site in Hillhead, Kirkintilloch.

Council Leader Rhondda Geekie said: "We are making good progress on the delivery of our Primary School Improvement Programme.

"The new Lairdsland Primary School is due to open on schedule next month, the latest designs for the new primary school in Lenzie will be shared with the Lenzie and Lenzie Moss primary school communities in the coming weeks and following tonight’s report we will now move to the outline design phase for the new school for St Agatha’s and St Flannan's."

The Stage 1 design phase is the next stage in the process and will translate the specific requirements of the new denominational Primary School brief into outline designs.

The designs will include a site plan, building floor plans and a landscape framework.
