The consultation period for a new flood risk management scheme is now open, it has been announced.
Scotland's first Flood Risk Management Strategies and Local Flood Risk Management Plans are now open for suggestions and recommendations via consultation.
For each Local Plan District, a Flood Risk Management Strategy is to be published by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency in December 2015.
A Local Flood Risk Management Plan will be published by each Lead Local Authority in June 2016.
The consultation is being delivered in two phases and will produce draft information to be contained in each Flood Risk Management Strategy and Local Flood Risk Management Plan.
The first phase began on 22 December 2014 and included a summary of the main sources and impacts of flooding in the Local Plan Districts.
The second phase is now open and will include draft flood risk management objectives and actions, as well as information on the draft Local Flood Risk Management Plans.
The consultation is available from frm-scotland.org.uk.
The phase two consultation will close on Tuesday 2 June 2015.
