Building work to replace a memorial wall at Dunfermline Crematorium is to commence next week, Fife Council has announced.

The project will see plaques removed from a wall in section A of the crematorium's Garden of Remembrance. The Council has stressed that the plaques will, however, still be on display for visitors while repair works are being carried out.


It is anticipated that the work will be completed, and the plaques replaced on the wall, by the end of March.

Willie Greig, Bereavement Services Officer, said: "The condition of the memorial wall has deteriorated and it's now time to replace it. I'd like to assure visitors that the new wall will look very similar to the current one in appearance."

He added: "The plaques will temporarily be positioned on the existing wall near the current site and be easily accessible. We apologise for any disruption the works may cause our visitors."
