A contract notice to appoint a main contractor for the refurbishment of a building at the University of Edinburgh has opened.
The £20m project would see the Old College building at the university's Law School refurbished in phases. The phased options for the works would be;
• An internal refurbishment of the building in four phases and the associated external works to the scope of each phase, or
• An internal refurbishment of the building in a single phase and associated external works to the scope of this single phase.
It is anticipated that the project will take five years to complete, with work commencing in the summer or autumn of 2015.
Work will include retaining and restoring a number of the Grade A listed building's original features, creating a new law library and delivering new teaching, learning and research spaces.
Additional information can be found on the project here.
The closing date for tender applications is 26 March, with the aim of five firms being shortlisted and invited to tender at the start of May.
