Aberdeenshire Council has approved a Capital Plan worth almost £1bn.
The plan will allow for a number of significant build programmes such as care homes, community and leisure facilities and schools to go ahead.
The Capital Plan for 2015-30 is worth almost £1bn and will support job creation, support businesses, deliver improved facilities for the area. It was considered by the council alongside its Revenue Budget, highlighting the direct link between two of the authority's key financial plans.
Among the projects included under the plan are new community campus facilities in Ellon and Alford, a new Garioch Academy, a new care home and new primary schools as well as a new children's home and new leisure facilities at Banchory and Banff & Macduff.
Councillor Jim Gifford, Aberdeenshire Council Leader and Chair of the Policy and Resources Committee, said: "Over the next 15 years this Council is planning to spend approximately £1 billion improving the infrastructure and facilities used by the people of Aberdeenshire on a daily basis.
"That's a big number in anyone's books and reflects the importance this council places on making sure our buildings and infrastructure are fit for purpose. There will be clear economic benefits that Aberdeenshire will see as a result of these projects.
"The strategic budget work will include the ongoing review of the Capital Plan alongside the review of the Revenue Budget to ensure that an affordable and deliverable plan reflecting the priorities of this council is agreed."
