A public consultation is to be held in relation to a proposed community sports hub in Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire.
The event will provide the local community with an opportunity to view and comment on the designs, and share their thoughts on how the future hub should be shaped.
The project, in partnership with sportscotland, aims to increase participation and engage the local community in physical activities, as well as promote community leadership by bringing together key partners and groups.
The consultation will be held on Monday 9 February at the Mearns Community Campus from 7pm.
Councillor Isobel Davidson, Chair of Aberdeenshire Council's Education, Learning and Leisure Committee, said: "The recent opening of the new Mearns Community Campus created the ideal opportunity for those living within the Laurencekirk area to create a lasting legacy for sport and recreation in the form of a Community Sports Hub.
"The hub will be tailored to the needs of the local community and will be a great tool for sports clubs to come together and bounce ideas off one another."
Councillor Ron McKail, vice-chair of the committee, added: "All clubs share similar challenges and the aim of a Community Sports Hub would be to provide support and assistance which can only help improve the services clubs provide their members in the community.
"Groups will be able to work together to develop and create new opportunities whether it is the introduction of new sports or the development and realisation of the full potential of facilities already available.
"I hope all those interested in seeing the development of sporting activities in the Laurencekirk area will attend the event and share their ideas."
