Revised plans for Edinburgh Marina have been submitted to the council, it is understood.
The development for Granton Harbour, if approved, would include a 400-berth marina, housing, retail and a spa hotel. Improved facilities for local yacht clubs are also included in the proposals.
The plans were approved last year, but the design has since been changed.
While the residential area of the development remains the same, it has now included more family-sized houses for rent. In addition, the new retail space, 9,220 sq m, and leisure space, 4,220 sq m, also remain unchanged. The layout has, however, with easier access being provided to the centre space for both residents and visitors. Elsewhere, there is provision to extend a tram service as well as a fast link ferry service.
A spokesperson for Granton Central Developments Limited, the developers of the scheme, is quoted by the media as saying: "We are very pleased with the way in which our development plans have been supported by the local community and we look forward to starting work on this exciting project in 2015.
"We hope that Edinburgh Marina will soon be not just a gateway to Edinburgh, but a focal point of an exciting and energetic new community."
