Plans to invest more than £70,000 to improve playparks throughout Dundee are to go before Councillors next week.
They will be asked to approve the work which will see a variety of upgrades carried out.
The projects include:
• Claypotts Park – refurbishment of toddler swings and climbing frame
• Cobden Street – refurbishment of a climbing frame and upgrading the weathered surfaces on swings
• Derwent Avenue – refurbishment of toddler and junior climbing frames, plus upgrading the weathered surfaces on swings and seating
• Foggyley Gardens – refurbishment of toddler swings and climbing frame
• Kenmore Gardens – upgrading weathered surfaces on equipment and seating.
In addition, signage will also be upgraded at the play areas, while safety surfacing improvements will be undertaken.
Councillor Craig Melville, Environment Convener, commented: "I am pleased that we are almost at the stage to give these parks a much needed revamp.
"The council has been improving play areas in communities across the city and we want to give families and children the chance to get out and enjoy their local environment.
"These spaces are vital in so many ways, in particular improving the health and wellbeing of Dundee's children."
