Funding of £16,500 has helped restore war memorials in East Dunbartonshire.
The fund, which was made available through the Scottish Government's Centenary War Memorials Fund, allowed memorials in Bearsden and Milnagavie to be restored.
The local authority inspected the 10 war memorials in the area to determine their current condition. It was then decided that the condition of the Bearsden and Milnagavie structures would benefit the most from restoration works.
Conservation Reports were commissioned, outlining the work that needed to be done on each project, including cleaning, waxing and buffing of the bronze statues; cleaning and re-pointing of the stone plinths; and repairing the broken stonework around the memorials.
In September, work commenced on the Bearsden war memorial, with work beginning on the Milnagavie memorial the following month.
Both of the memorials were awarded Scottish Government grants, covering 75% of the repair and conservation work. The remainder was met by east Dunbartonshire Council.
Welcoming the restoration projects, Councillor Ashay Ghai, depute leader of East Dunbartonshire Council, said: "This work has dramatically improved these two War memorials, ensuring they are fitting tributes to the residents of East Dunbartonshire who paid the ultimate price fighting for their country. It is particularly fitting that this work has taken place in the year of the 100th anniversary of the First World War when so many perished."
