Luddon has announced it is to construct the Burn of Mar hydro scheme.
The project will be situated near Drymen in Stirling.
The 500kw run of river scheme will consist of two intakes plus a 3.5km buried pipeline which will lead to the turbine house. Once operational, it will generate power feeding into the national grid.
It is anticipated that the project would reinforce its "continued activity in the renewable energy sector", as well as adding Hydro to its Wet and Dry Anaerobic Digestion capabilities.
The company is liaising with Scottish National Heritage (SNH), SEPA and other agencies for the development, as the project is located close to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
