The final section of the North Boulevard at Dundee's Central Waterfront is to reopen next week, it has been announced. It will open on Monday 17 November.
In preparation for the section reopening however, the local authority has said an area of the South Marketgait carriageway eastbound will close from 6am on Saturday 15 November to 6am on Monday 17 November. An alternative route will be in place for traffic, while motorists approaching from Riverside will not be affected.
When completed, traffic travelling eastbound from Riverside Drive will make a right turn at a new traffic light controlled junction at Malmaison, while the pedestrian crossing from Union Street to the railway station will be relocated to its permanent position at the junction.
Drivers heading to Perth will be unaffected by these changes.
When the carriageway is reopened, the contractors – Sir Robert McAlpine – will undertake construction work on other areas of the site. This includes adjacent side roads on the grid pattern of streets, and new public open spaces.
The £11m project being undertaken at the central waterfront is due to completed by the end of 2015.
