A planning application for a wind farm in Argyll and Bute has been submitted to the local authority.

E.ON is behind the proposals which, if approved, would see the nine-turbine Allt Rubha Wind Farm constructed south of Ardrishaig in the area. When complete, it would be capable of producing up to 27MW of electricity.

The developer has worked closely with the local community regarding the planned wind farm, and has taken into account feedback it has received. For example, E.ON significantly reduced the number of proposed turbines on the wind farm from 24 to nine.

Emma Clark, Onshore Development Manager at E.ON, said: "Since we introduced our proposals in February 2013, we've held a number of events to share our plans with local residents to give them every chance to provide their feedback. This included public information days, exhibitions and design workshops.

"We also set up a Community Liaison Group (CLG) which provided a way of communicating directly with local residents and respective community councils to ensure we fully understood the community's views on our proposals.

"I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all of those who provided comment on the proposals, and especially members of the CLG who have given up their own time over the last 18 months to help inform the design and layout of the wind farm."
