Work has started on a new housing development at Sixth Street, Uddingston.

CCG, the Glasgow-based construction firm, is the appointed contractor for the scheme which is being carried out in partnership with Clyde Valley Housing Association.

A total of 20 properties will be built on the site, consisting of 14 terraced houses and and one block of six flats.

For the development, CCG is utilising its investment in an Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) facility; this will not only help to improve the efficiency of construction and manufacturing on the build, but will also greatly reduce the build time and minimises waste.

Calum Murray, director of CCG, said: "We are very proud of our partnership with Clyde Valley Housing Association and this project is a continuation of the productive working relationship going forward."

The development is expected to be completed in summer 2015.
