Work is to commence on the new Cadder Community Centre later this month.
In a statement, Cadder Housing Association confirmed Clark Contracts would be responsible for the build. The £3m development will be located on the site of a redundant sports hall and when completed, will offer a range of activities and services for the local community.
Kenny Mollins, Director of Cadder Housing Association, said: "The commencement of the new community project is a landmark event and the culmination of over four years work since Cadder Housing Association took on the management of the centre, following the planned closure by the City Council in 2010.
"We are delighted to have reached this stage and would like to thank local residents and groups; consultants and funders who have supported and funded the development of this exciting regeneration project. We look forward to opening the new facility in October 2015 and to have a full programme of activities to maximize use of the Cadder's new community centre."
Linda Brown, Chairperson of the Association, added: "We are overjoyed that Cadder will now have its own community centre that has been designed to meet the needs and aspirations of local residents.
"It has been a major achievement and I would again like to thank the Committee, staff, consultants, partners and funders who have played their part in making this project real, which will provide a facility for local people and future generations in Cadder."
