Plans to expand a garden centre in Newtown St Boswells, as well as create new retail units, have been submitted to the Scottish Borders Council.
The proposed £2.5m expansion by Milestone Garden and Leisure would also create around 40 jobs, it has been claimed.
The plans would see the existing garden centre increased, with nine new retail units constructed as well as a café/restaurant and a gym. Car parking at the site would be almost doubled in the plans, from 114 spaces to 227.
Milestone Garden and Leisure also submitted a separate application for 40 homes to be constructed on a neighbouring site. The layout is designed around a central amenity space, while the plans also include parking spaces and new roads infrastructure.
