Works For Tay Road Bridge Cancelled

A series of maintenance work planned for the Tay Road Bridge this weekend have been cancelled, Dundee City Council has said.

It is understood the decision was made after stormy weather was forecast for the region. The prediction of high wind and heavy rain mean the planned carriageway resurfacing for the stretch of road will not be possible and has now been rescheduled for next weekend, from Friday 24 October.

From 1am that morning, marker posts will be in place on the southbound carriageway as part of a contraflow system that will be in operation during the works.

Signs will be in place for motorists, who are advised to stay in lane once they drive onto the bridge during the works, while traffic delays are to be expected. Cyclists are to use the walkway for their own safety.
