A temporary roof is being installed at the fire-damaged Glasgow School of Art (GSA).
The structure will be put in place to keep the building wind and watertight over the winter months.
It is understood the work, which will take around a week to complete, will involve a large metal frame being lifted onto the historic building and put in place. White protective panels would then be fitted to seal it off.
The GSA was left badly damaged following a blaze on 23 May earlier this year. It is hoped £20m will be raised to help restore the building to its former state.
90% of the building was saved following the blaze, but the Mackintosh library was one of the most-badly damaged areas.
