Support For Controversial City Development

Controversial plans to redevelop the former site of Aberdeen City Council's headquarters have been supported by council officials.

It is understood a report will now be submitted to Councillors next week, recommending that they should approve the proposals.

The plans, designed by Muse, would see a £107m mixed-use development on the site. It includes a hotel, office complex, retail outlets and restaurants.

The site was vacated by council staff in 2011 when they moved to the newly-refurbished Marischal College building in the city centre.
