Smith & Frater Ltd has been awarded £50,000 from the West Lothian Enterprise Sub Committee to help its future growth.
The Bathgate-based firm provides a number of timber-based products to the building and construction sectors, including manufactured kitchens, steel and timber doors and doorsets.
The support provided by the West Lothian Economic Growth Plan (WLEGP), will allow the company to improve production volumes and efficiency, while also guaranteeing a high quality of product with reduced costs. The investment will also provide job security for existing employees, plus create an opportunity to recruit a further 10 individuals.
Nick Higgins, Managing Director at Smith and Frater, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded £50,000 from the WLEGP. Investment in our kitchen business has been substantial and the results are now bearing fruit with volumes on a steady upward trend. The support we have received will be used to support our future growth."
Cathy Muldoon, Executive Councillor for Development and Transport, added: "The Enterprise Sub Committee is delighted to be able to support Smith & Frater Ltd with its goal of growth and job creation, which is exactly what the WLEGP was set up to do. The Enterprise Sub Group would like to wish them every success."
