Biomass Boiler Plant Installed In Tain

A new biomass boiler plant has been installed at Scotsburn Court in Tain, the Cairn Housing Association has announced.

The containerised boiler plant was built in Inverness and contains fuel storage, tanks, heat exchangers and a large boiler. The housing association has invested more than £200,000 in the new plant, which aims to generate up to 40% of savings on service charges for tenants.

Derek Adam, Cairn Housing Association's Director of Finance and Investment, said: "We are delighted to offer our tenants a cheaper and greener source of heating through the new biomass boiler plant. In addition to offering huge savings to tenants we are proud to support the emerging renewable energy industry in the region with our investment in biomass technology."
