Plans to build a new Baldragon Academy in Dundee have been approved.
The green light means that contractor Robertson Construction can begin work on the site.
The new school will be able to accommodate 1,000 pupils and will be part of a shared campus, including the relocated Sidlaw View Primary School, and the Jessie Porter Nursery School.
It is understood the replacement secondary school will be built on the playing fields of the existing primary and secondary school. The main teaching classrooms on campus will be located over three floors and there will be an adjoining sports hall with a large games hall, two gyms and swimming pool.
The facility is expected to open in 2016.
