Work to improve the B851 Sockish's Bends in the Highlands has commenced.
The project, which started on Tuesday (16 September), will begin with tree felling in order to allow for road widening and wall construction on the route.
A road traffic order is now in place and runs until 24 December, the local authority has said.
Traffic management steps are in place for the duration of the works and involve a diversion route for local and light traffic on the C1076 (Brin to Dunlichity)/C1068 (Dunlichity to Balnafoich), the management of bus services, routing of HGV traffic and part-day closures. It is understood the C1076/C1068 diversion route will be given the same priority as the B851, under the Council's Winter Maintenance programme and will be gritted/cleared in conjunction with the gritting/clearing of the B851.
The local authority has said monitoring of the closures and use of the diversion route will be checked daily, while an additional public meeting will be held towards the end of October to inform residents of how the project is progressing.
