The former Orkney Arts Theatre, located on Mill Street, Kirkwall, has been put up for sale by the local authority.
In a statement, the Orkney Islands Council (OIC), said it is inviting offers of over £78,000 for the venue.
The building was used as a Temperence meeting hall towards the end of the 19th Century, but in the 1960s, it was refurbished and converted into its most recent use as a theatre.
The original section of the property is stone-built with a pitched slate roof, while there are two extensions, assumed to be of block construction.
Over the three floors, the venue consists of:
• A basement level (247.5 m sq) with storage areas, changing rooms, catering areas and WC
• A ground floor (187.8m sq) with kiosk, entrance vestibule, WC and changing rooms
• A balcony level (56.6 m sq) with seating.
The property also has mains electricity, water and drainage, the local authority has said.
