Almost £3m a week is being invested in constructing new schools and community facilities in Aberdeenshire, the local authority has confirmed.
The investment also includes significant improvements carried out to infrastructure.
At a meeting of the Council's Policy & Resources Committee on Thursday (11 September), a revised capital plan was approved by members for a total expenditure – for 2014/15 – of £150,900,000.
Some of the schemes included in this funding are the new community and sports facilities at Banff and Macduff, the new £23m Ellon Community Campus, and almost £20m for the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR).
Council Leader, Councillor Jim Gifford, welcomed the "phenomenal level of spend" in this year's Capital Plan, which increased from £113,000,000 in 2013/14.
