A development of new affordable homes has been completed in Craigmillar, Edinburgh, with the first tenants already moving in.
The project, which saw 60 new homes constructed in Greendykes, are modern and energy efficient, and have a landscaped, secure communal area, complete with seating and bike sheds.
The properties were constructed by Hart Builders on behalf of Edinburgh Council.
Councillor Cammy Day, Housing Leader, said: "It's great to hear directly from the people living in the homes, saying how delighted they are with everything from the quality of the kitchens and bathrooms to the huge communal space at the back.
"As part of the Capital Coalition's pledge to encourage the development of co-operatives, the plan for a community co-operative at Greendykes signals a new approach to working with tenants. This will change the relationship they have with the place in which they live, allowing them the opportunity to manage and develop communal space and play a different role in their community.
"This is a perfect example of what modern, affordable housing is like and I am proud of the fact that here in Edinburgh, we are building more than ever before."
