The final two steel 'Precipitator' structures at Cockenzie Power Station have been demolished, ScottishPower has announced.
Following the demolition, work on site will now focus on internal building work. This will include the internal strip-out of materials from the station buildings, as well as the general dismantling works at the plant.
On Thursday (4 September), a controlled explosive demolition was carried out on the structures. It is the eighth such demolition in the project to take place by contractor Brown and Mason.
George Camps, Project Manager at ScottishPower, said: "We are pleased that progress on the demolition work is continuing on schedule. Once the last steel precipitators are removed, we will focus on internal building works and carrying out general dismantling works at the coal plant.
"This follows a major engineering project to remove the coal conveyor last month. We will continue to keep the community updated on progress at the site in the coming months."
