A play park at Harestanes Countryside Visitor Centre is to temporarily close in order to allow essential maintenance to be carried out, the Scottish Borders Council has said.
The closure will be in place from Monday 1 September and last until Friday 5 September.
The work will involve upgrading the access path to the park by giving it a new top coating, as well as replacing sections of the timber edges. The project has been scheduled for this time due to favourable weather conditions that have been forecast, as the path coating needs certain conditions to cure properly. With the new school session also underway, the inconvenience to visitors at the centre will be kept to a minimum.
With the play park closed, the centre's other outdoor and indoor facilities will remain open, including the countryside paths, wildlife garden, sand play area, gallery, café, shop and games room.
