SSE has said progress continues to be made on the Beauly Denny project.
In the latest series of works, a new electrical tower has been constructed – 2,500ft up a Scottish mountain.
The tower, which is said to be the highest in the UK, is located on the Corrieyairack Pass, above Fort Augustus.
Mark Mathieson, SSEPD Managing Director, commented: "Construction of the Beauly Denny Project over the Corrieyairack Pass has been one of the most challenging aspects of the entire project.
"Since 2010 our teams have completed the construction of a nine mile access track to the summit, prepared and installed 39 foundations, erected the new steel towers and have recently finished stringing the new conductors.
"Although the teams have endured harsh weather conditions and faced engineering challenges, they maintained their momentum and have completed the section on time."
