Aberdeen Council has confirmed that a section of the Mugiemoss Road has reopened.
The road was forced to close in March in order to allow essential work to be carried out on a new housing development, but on Monday (18 August), motorists were able to access the route once again.
In a statement, the local authority said contractors for Barratt Homes have created a new road on the old road, and work included installing a new sewer, water and gas pipes, electricity, street lighting and communications cables, as well as building a new footway.
Aberdeen City Council Leader, Jenny Laing, commented: "By working in partnership with Barratt Homes these private works have been completed in five months. This is due to the coordinated effort by all involved to minimise the disruption to road users.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their patience and understanding while these essential works were carried out."
