Plans to develop a vacant site in Dundee are to be discussed by the local authority's city development committee. The site is that of the former Maxwelltown Works on Alexander Street.
A draft site planning brief is expected to be discussed by the committee next week before it is then put out to consultation. It is understood the proposals would transform the street, with the residential development complementing housing to the east and west of the site. Semi-detached or terraced homes would account for a majority of the site, but the brief also supports the development of a small number of flats.
Will Dawson, Convener of Dundee City Council's City Development Committee, said: "This site offers a great opportunity for high quality redevelopment. Because of neighbouring housing that has already been built and our ongoing commitment to the regeneration of the Hilltown, the Maxwelltown Works site is approximate for a mix of house types."
