Construction News Image
Work on a new 35-home development is underway at Falkirk Road, Bonnybridge, it has been announced.

The £4.2m project by Link Group is expected to be completed by July 2015.

The properties will meet Link's design standards for affordable housing and will consist of 14 two-bedroom flats for social rent, and 21 two-bedroom flats for intermediate rent. It is understood the intermediate rent properties will be aimed at working individuals and households who are unlikely to secure a social tenancy or are unable to buy in their local housing market.

Craig Sanderson, Link Group Chief Executive, commented: "We are delighted to have been supported by the Social Government and Falkirk Council to enable us to continue to build new, high quality homes at rents affordable to people on low or limited fixed incomes. We will continue to liaise with the local community as the development takes shape."

Councillor Gerry Goldie, Falkirk Council's spokesperson for Housing, added: "Any new social housing building in the area is to be welcomed and Link's proposals will bring families better housing options for the future."

In addition to the above development, Link is also constructing 30 homes for social and intermediate rent in Auchincloch, Banknock. Most recently, it completed 30 flats for social rent at Bellsdyke, Larbert.
