An engineer's report has revealed that a pedestrian bridge at Sponish, Lochmaddy, is unfit for use, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has announced.
The inspection report found that the structure, initially constructed in the late 1980s, is in need of restoration work. The local authority has added that discussions are now underway with landowners and other interested parties on the future use of the bridge.
Warning signs regarding the condition of the bridge are now being installed on site.
