A number of significant road improvement works are to commence in East Renfrewshire today (5 August). The work is the next phase of the Council's plans to improve the roads infrastructure in the area.
From Tuesday, this stage of the project will be carried out on the East Kilbride Road. Lasting for approximately eight days, the works will include the resurfacing of the road, as well as improvements to drains, repainting of white lines and repairs made to a number of kerbs.
The stretch of road affected by the scheme is from The Crescent in Busby to the South Lanarkshire boundary. For the duration of the works, the local authority has confirmed the road will remain open, but temporary traffic lights will be in place. In addition, the junctions at both The Crescent and Kippen Drive will be closed for a time. Diversions will be place for motorists.
