A public meeting is to be held today (31 July) regarding proposed plans for road improvement works on the B851 route at Sockich's Bends, the Highland Council has said.
Before work to twin-track the road can commence, it is understood Forestry Commission Scotland will need to fell timber in the area. This, alongside the actual construction of the road, would require traffic management arrangements to be put in place and would likely involve part-day closures and a diversion route.
In a statement, the Highland Council said its officers, as well as representatives from Forestry Commission Scotland, will be in attendance at the meeting. The local community is encouraged to attend the consultation.
The event will be held at Farr Community Hall on Thursday 31 July, from 7pm to 8pm.
