Due to work being carried out as part of the Dunfermline Flood Prevention Scheme, Fife Council has said that road closures will be in place next week.
From Monday 28 July, a traffic management system will be in place at the Forth Street Junction in Dunfermline. It will be a three-way traffic light system and will control traffic from West Netherton Street, Milton Green and Forth Street. The local authority has said it will be in place for one week in order to allow advance investigation works and the protection of underground services to be carried out ahead of the box culvert installation.
From Monday 4 August to Tuesday 19 August, the junction will then close at Coal Road, West Netherton Street and Forth Street with access for residents only, to allow for a quicker installation of the remaining box culvert sections. If required, a three-way traffic system will be in operation from Wednesday 20 August to allow the workforce to reinstate the area safely. This should take around two weeks to complete.
All diversion routes will be sign posted.
