It has been reported that maintenance workers at the Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA) are to be balloted on industrial action. The ballot will open on Monday.
The move comes after the SBHA and the Unite union failed to reach an agreement earlier this week regarding terms and conditions.
The association is understood to want the working day to begin "on site" at 8am, but currently, it starts when staff leave their homes at that time. This is due to an agreement that was reached following cuts at regional depots.
However, Unite has said these plans add around two-and-a-half unpaid hours to a working week.
SBHA has said the proposals are standard industry practice.
