Regeneration Work Continues In Rothesay

A regeneration project for Rothesay, Argyll and Bute, is continuing this week with the installation of a custom-built bus shelter.

The work is part of the Rothesay Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) which has received an investment of more than £2.5m from Argyll and Bute Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic Scotland and LEADER.

The project aims to make the town a better place to live, work and visit by repairing historic buildings and carrying out enhancements works to shop-fronts in and around Guildford Square. One of the initiatives for the Square was a bespoke bus shelter to complement the ongoing regeneration work and help to enhance its appearance.

A contract for the scheme was awarded to DP Structures who started work on site this week. It is anticipated that the bus shelter will be in place by the end of next week.
