A new community play park has opened at Ratho Station in Edinburgh.
The facilities were upgraded as part of a £60,000 investment and will provide some much-needed play equipment for children in the local area.
Funded by Edinburgh Council, with support from the Almond Neighbourhood Partnership and Edinburgh Airport, the project was undertaken by the environmental charity Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust (ELGT).
The improvements include swings, an inclusive multi-play unit with ramps, nets and slides, while new benches and a picnic table have also been installed.
Councillor Lesley Hinds, Environment Convener, said: "This is a fantastic addition to Ratho Station Park, which was sorely lacking suitable play facilities for local children.
"We have a first-class range of parks across the capital, and we want to help communities make the most of these great open spaces."
Chris Lewis, Chief Executive of ELGT, commented: "Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust is glad to have been able to facilitate a new play park for Ratho so as to provide local children with a quality facility just in time for the summer holidays."
Gordon, Dewar, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport, added: "We established our Community Board to contribute to projects and good causes in the surrounding area and we're delighted that the funding we provided was able to open this new park."
