An extension to Happyhansel Primary School in the Shetlands is to open next week (26 June).
It will be formally opened by Shetland West Councillor Frank Robertson.
The extension includes a new reception area, offices, a new library, social space, tutorial room and cloakroom area. The kitchen was also upgraded, while the roof was refurbished and an overall modernisation of the school took place.
The work was carried out by SIC Building Services.
Vaila Wishart, Chair of the Children and Families Committee, said: "I'm very pleased to see this work completed. It will make a real difference to pupils and staff, and I'd like to congratulate all those involved, especially the Scottish Futures Trust who have provided significant funding for the project."
