Appeals For Wind Farms Rejected

Appeals against the rejection of two planned wind farms for the Scottish Borders have been rejected, it is understood.

A total of 17 turbines would have been erected between the two proposed developments at Brunta Hill near Westruther and Shawpark near Stow.

The Scottish Borders Council (SBC) had previously rejected the plans, but the developers – PNE Wind UK – appealed against the decisions. A reporter for the Scottish Government was then appointed to look at the developments and has since ruled that neither proposal can go ahead.

A spokesperson for PNE Wind UK said it was "extremely disappointed" by the decision.
