Inspection works have been carried out at a sea wall in Cromarty View, Invergordon, after reports that there was damage to the structure emerged over the weekend.
The Highland Council's Area Community Services team has now confirmed that it carried out an inspection and found a void in the wall. It is thought the erosion has been caused by the sea.
In a statement, the local authority added that repairs to the wall will commence as soon as possible, and has raised concerns about public safety in relation to the pathway. Measures are currently being put in place to seal off the area and keep pedestrians away from the section of wall that is damaged.
