Scottish Borders Council has confirmed the new sports facilities at Peebles High School will officially open next week.

The £4.8m state-of-the-art complex will open on 21 May.

It is understood that local sporting stars, as well as pupils and staff of the school and dignitaries will attend a ceremony to mark the official opening.

The new facility boasts an indoor four-court games hall, general purpose hall, fitness suite and classroom, plus the associated changing facilities. A 2G synthetic pitch, sprint track and long jump track have also been installed at the site.
