Argyll and Bute Council has issued an update regarding the proposed installation of a new 3G pitch at Lochgilphead joint campus.
The pitch would replace the existing 2G surface and the local authority has said it is intended to be a 40mm Tiger Turf surface, which can accommodate a number of sports. It is understood that the pitch will be primarily used as a school facility, but there will also be opportunities for community use outwith school hours.
In a statement, the Council said the new pitch will meet all the necessary requirements and will be suitable for hockey, football, shinty, athletics and non-contact rugby training and activities such as tag/touch rugby.
