Footbridge To Be Refurbished

The Mill Road footbridge in Newmilns, East Ayrshire, is to be refurbished.

The local authority said the project will be delivered after a contractor was appointed by the Ayrshire Roads Alliance for the scheme.

IH Borland from Crookedholm will undertake the works and will involve structural steelwork repairs, new decking, re-painting and upgraded footpaths, as well as upgraded drainage on the approach to the bridge.

Work is scheduled to commence on today (12 May) and will take around seven weeks to complete.
