Two new aluminium bridges are to be installed on the mountain Ben Nevis.

According to the Highland Council, the bridges will be located on the main path up the mountain from the visitor centre to the summit.

Work to replace the two footbridges will commence on Monday 19 May and the project will last for approximately four weeks. As a result of the works being carried out, advisory signs will be in place on-site and those using the route are asked to follow them.

The local authority has also said that restrictions and path closure will be kept to a minimum, while all other routes onto Ben Nevis will be unaffected.

The work is being funded by the landowners Rio Tinto Alcan.
