Designs for a proposed community Hub in Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire, are to be put out to public consultation next week.

In March, the local authority approved an alternative feasibility option for Lennoxtown. A much larger Hub facility had been initially suggested, but plans for this were scaled back in order to deliver the project within the approved budget and to maintain the range of operational services that would be provided.

The sessions, which will be supported by Council officers and the Council's development partner, hub West Scotland, will allow the local community to view the designs as well as to ask any questions they may have.

Council Leader Rhondda Geekie commented: "We have listened to the feedback from the previous engagement process and introduced these sessions which we believe will play an important part in informing the new Hub design and to keep people up-dated as to how the proposals are progressing.

"The development of the new facility will see major investment by the Council within Lennoxtown and I would encourage people to come along to the information sessions to hear what exciting plans we have and help inform the development process."

The information events will be held on Wednesday 14 May at Campsie Memorial Hall from 1.30pm to 3pm, and again from 7pm to 8.30pm.
