Orkney Islands Council (OIC) is encouraging the local community to share their views on the draft Open Space Strategy.
The document seeks to highlight potential areas where new, or improved, provision would benefit the county's five main settlements.
The settlements are Dounby, Finstown, Kirkwall, St Margaret's Hope and Stromness.
Of the suggestions made, these could then be used to shape where resources and potential developments would be directed. Once approved, the document will be a material consideration in the determination of planning applications.
The consultation will run from 8 May until 3 July before the document is revised and put before Councillors for approval.
