In a statement, the local authority said the Court has asked for a report to be prepared. A QC has been appointed for this request, which will then be presented and allow the Court to make a decision.

As a result of the report, it is likely to lead to a delay in the proposed school being constructed.
Earlier this year, plans were submitted with the Court of Session for a £24m replacement building for Barrhead High School in Cowan Park. The development would be constructed next to the existing school building on poor-quality and under-used parkland behind the school.
East Renewfrewshire Council has said it will keep the community up to date on developments.
